For young children at Plearnpattana, we believe children learn best when they are actively engaged through play, movement, music, stories, and meaningful interactions help them feel comfortable, confident, and open to learning a new language.
So, let’s take a look inside our ESL Kindergarten program, where children gradually become familiar with English in ways that feel natural and enjoyable.
🍼 Nursery
The goal of the nursery is simple: helping children feel comfortable with English and enjoy being part of the learning experience. They explore through familiar topics such as farm animals, zoo animals, pets, insects, and body parts.
At this stage, success is not measured by how many words children can remember. Instead, we celebrate their willingness to participate, their curiosity, and their growing confidence in a new environment.
🧸 Kindergarten 1
As children become more familiar with English, they begin exploring letters and sounds through the Jolly Phonics approach. Such as letter Aa, Bb, and Cc that come to life through engaging stories and playful learning experiences.
Children in Kindergarten 1 continue building listening and speaking skills while developing confidence in using English through everyday classroom interactions.
🎨 Kindergarten 2
In Kindergarten 2, students continue strengthening their phonics foundation while connecting to topics that are meaningful in daily lives, including feelings and emotions, action words, sight words, and days of the week.
These experiences help children see English not as a separate subject, but as a useful tool for understanding and expressing ideas about the world around them.
🎓 Kindergarten 3
As children approach the transition to primary school, they take the next step from recognizing sounds to reading and writing simple words independently.
Through Word Families, and guided reading activities, and with topics such as action words, opposites, and everyday routines.
By the end of Kindergarten 3, students will have developed a strong foundation in letter sounds, early reading skills, and everyday vocabulary, preparing them for the next stage of their English learning journey.
✨ Growing Through Joyful Learning
Across all ESL classrooms in Kindergarten, our goal is not simply for children to learn English, but for them to enjoy learning it. We want children to discover wonder in learning English, the willingness to try, and experience the joy of communicating.
These early experiences lay an important foundation for future English learning while helping children develop a positive attitude toward learning itself.
Next time we meet, we will take a look inside our ESL room in Secondary School together! Stay tuned! 🔔
Special thanks to our ESL teachers for sharing their learning plans and the values they nurture in our Kindergarten classrooms.

#PPTNAcademic#PPTNESL 🤓 The past three weeks in our ESL classrooms have been filled with “hands-on learning.” Across both Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, students have continued developing their English skills through reading, discussion, creativity, and meaningful experiences that bring language to life. …ผ่านมาแล้วกว่า 3 สัปดาห์ เด็ก ๆ ในทั้งช่วงชั้นที่ 1 – 2 ได้เปิดโลกการเรียนรู้ภาษาอังกฤษอย่างหลากหลาย และนำบทเรียนภาษามาสู่ชีวิตจริงด้วยการลงมือทำกิจกรรมต่าง ๆ มาติดตามไปด้วยกันค่ะ 📌 Key Stage 1 in Action In Key Stage 1, students were using English in many different ways both inside and outside the classroom. Alongside building their phonics foundation, they learned to listen, share ideas, work together, and communicate through stories, discussions, and group activities. English Clubs added even more opportunities for learning. In the English Cooking Club, students followed English instructions to make their own 🥪 “HAM & CHEESE sandwiches” while learning about ingredients and sequencing. In the Creative Hands Club, they used pipe cleaners to create colorful food models and crafts. Meanwhile, young authors in the Junior Story Maker Club began planning and creating their own Books with drawing, turning imagination into stories with a beginning, middle, and end. 📌 Key Stage 2 in Action “Tell me and I forget, teach me and I may remember, involve me and I learn.” As students grow older, English learning becomes a tool for deeper thinking and communication. Over the past two weeks, students in Key Stage 2 continued strengthening their language skills through activities that encouraged them to discuss, analyze, and express ideas with confidence. 📚 “STORYBOOKS and NOVELS” including reading passages became starting points for conversations in class. Students shared opinions, discussed ideas with friends, explained their thinking, and explored language in different contexts. Through these experiences, they learned that English is not only about finding the correct answer, but also about communicating ideas clearly and working collaboratively with others. ❤️ Growing Through English Across both Key Stages, one thing remains the same which is “children learn language best when they are actively involved in the learning process.” Whether creating a storybook, making a sandwich, discussing a character, or working together to solve a challenge, students are gradually building confidence in using English while discovering that learning can be both meaningful and enjoyable at Plearnpattana. We look forward to sharing more learning stories from our ESL classrooms soon. 😊 Thank you for meaningful Story from ESL KS1-2 Team By the Corporate Communications Department Information as of June 09 2026 Follow Ploenpattana School’s page for more articles and photos of activities 👇 https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1D52UxKi81/
