✨ Take a look inside our Secondary ESL classrooms, where students begin the new semester by “setting their own learning goals” and “taking ownership of their learning”. Alongside developing English through critical thinking, collaboration, and self-responsibility. Step by step, they are learning to become independent learners who can use English as a tool to explore the world and create opportunities for their future.

📚 Learning English as a Plearnpattana Secondary Student
The heart of Secondary ESL is a simple belief: students are the owners of their learning. While developing English proficiency remains an important goal, we also encourage students to take responsibility for their learning, work toward personal goals, and grow alongside others within a learning community.
To support different learning needs, students are grouped according to their English proficiency levels. This allows teachers to design suitable learning experiences while providing support where it is needed most. In the classroom, students are encouraged to think, discuss, collaborate, and construct knowledge together, while teachers guide and support the learning process as facilitators.
🤩 Beginning the Semester with Goals
During the first weeks of school, students explored course expectations, assessment methods, and learning goals. They were also invited to set personal goals for their English learning.
Some students hope to communicate more confidently in English, while others aim to improve their writing skills or prepare for future proficiency examinations. Whatever their goals may be, each one is valued and supported. At the same time, teachers observe students’ interests, strengths, and language abilities in order to plan learning experiences that best support their growth throughout the semester.
The ESL program supports students in developing their English proficiency through assessments such as OPT, IELTS, and Cambridge 4 Skills, while also strengthening communication, reading, writing, and the ethical use of AI. Alongside language development, students continue building responsibility, self-management, and goal-setting skills that will support both their future learning and everyday lives.
🪄 Stay Tuned… At Plearnpattana, learning English is more than learning a language. It is an opportunity for students to set goals, take ownership of their learning, and gradually grow into lifelong learners who can use English to open new perspectives and create opportunities for themselves.
We look forward to sharing more stories from our ESL classrooms in the coming weeks!

#PPTNAcademic#PPTNESL 🤓 The past three weeks in our ESL classrooms have been filled with “hands-on learning.” Across both Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, students have continued developing their English skills through reading, discussion, creativity, and meaningful experiences that bring language to life. …ผ่านมาแล้วกว่า 3 สัปดาห์ เด็ก ๆ ในทั้งช่วงชั้นที่ 1 – 2 ได้เปิดโลกการเรียนรู้ภาษาอังกฤษอย่างหลากหลาย และนำบทเรียนภาษามาสู่ชีวิตจริงด้วยการลงมือทำกิจกรรมต่าง ๆ มาติดตามไปด้วยกันค่ะ 📌 Key Stage 1 in Action In Key Stage 1, students were using English in many different ways both inside and outside the classroom. Alongside building their phonics foundation, they learned to listen, share ideas, work together, and communicate through stories, discussions, and group activities. English Clubs added even more opportunities for learning. In the English Cooking Club, students followed English instructions to make their own 🥪 “HAM & CHEESE sandwiches” while learning about ingredients and sequencing. In the Creative Hands Club, they used pipe cleaners to create colorful food models and crafts. Meanwhile, young authors in the Junior Story Maker Club began planning and creating their own Books with drawing, turning imagination into stories with a beginning, middle, and end. 📌 Key Stage 2 in Action “Tell me and I forget, teach me and I may remember, involve me and I learn.” As students grow older, English learning becomes a tool for deeper thinking and communication. Over the past two weeks, students in Key Stage 2 continued strengthening their language skills through activities that encouraged them to discuss, analyze, and express ideas with confidence. 📚 “STORYBOOKS and NOVELS” including reading passages became starting points for conversations in class. Students shared opinions, discussed ideas with friends, explained their thinking, and explored language in different contexts. Through these experiences, they learned that English is not only about finding the correct answer, but also about communicating ideas clearly and working collaboratively with others. ❤️ Growing Through English Across both Key Stages, one thing remains the same which is “children learn language best when they are actively involved in the learning process.” Whether creating a storybook, making a sandwich, discussing a character, or working together to solve a challenge, students are gradually building confidence in using English while discovering that learning can be both meaningful and enjoyable at Plearnpattana. We look forward to sharing more learning stories from our ESL classrooms soon. 😊 Thank you for meaningful Story from ESL KS1-2 Team By the Corporate Communications Department Information as of June 09 2026 Follow Ploenpattana School’s page for more articles and photos of activities 👇 https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1D52UxKi81/
