The Head of ESL Secondary Key Stage

Job description

We need the Head of ESL (English as Second Language) Subject for the Secondary Key Stage (Grade 7-12) to start as soon as possible.

Work hours: 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Mondays-Fridays

Salary: Depends on qualifications and teaching experience

Skills & Experience:

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Is a native English speaker or demonstrates near-native fluency.
  • Has a strong background in education, preferably with a degree in TESOL, Applied Linguistics, Education, or related fields.
  • Is familiar with international curricula (e.g., Cambridge, IB, U.S. Common Core) and standardized English exams (e.g., IELTS, TOEFL, CEFR).
  • Is tech-savvy and integrates educational technology effectively in the classroom and for department management.
  • Stays up to date with global educational trends and pedagogical innovations.
  • Gives constructive feedback in a motivating and supportive way.
  • Brings a creative, student-centered mindset, with a passion for collaborative and active learning.
  • Can clearly articulate and implement a holistic, interdisciplinary approach to ESL learning.
  • Has experience in managing teams, mentoring teachers, and resolving conflicts.
  • Is a strong listener and consultant, able to guide others with care and professionalism.
  • Is committed to staying in Thailand long-term and growing with the school.
  • Learns quickly, thinks critically, and brings strategic project or curriculum management experience.

Job Description

  • Study and develop ESL curriculum
  • Plan and develop lesson plans, materials and teaching & learning process of ESL
  • Develop student assessment tools/method
  • Give advice to ESL teachers in their teaching and developing students’ learning
  • Report important observations on ESL-related problems or progress to Head of Key Stage 
  • Coordinate with others for the duties assigned by Head of Key Stage.
